Third Sunday BBQs

Each month, on "The Third Sunday", the Friends of Glenthorne are hosting a BBQ.

We will start BushCare as normal, at 10am, and then break for lunch to host a BBQ.  Bring your family, invite your friends, or invite one of the Park Users to join us for a bit of social interaction.

Stop the Chop

The chainsaws are heading for Victoria Park next in preparation for the MotoCross GP !

Join the Adelaide Park Lands Association to Stop the Chop at Victoria Park at 10.30 this Saturday at the corner of Wakefield Street and East Terrace.

When: Saturday 6 June at 10.30am

After a few words by a range of participating groups we will proceed to the Fullarton Road corner then up to Bartels road and back to our assembly point - tying Yellow Ribbons all the way.

That way every passing motorist, cyclist and pedestrian can see what we risk losing; and the Government can see the political cost if they don't Stop the Chop!

Please bring ribbons.

It is helpful to have an idea of numbers so please register by clicking on the Stop the Chop at Victoria Park Event page if you are coming.

Fungi workshops in City of Marion

The City of Marion are partnering with Fungimap, a national organisation dedicated to increasing our understanding of fungi, conservation, and it’s role in biodiversity.

As part of this project, Fungimap will undertake a desktop survey of historical fungi observations in City of Marion, with the aim of building baseline knowledge on the species diversity and abundance locally. This will help us monitor changes in fungi distribution and assist with further studies.

Going forward, we want to do a much better job at recording the fungi that grows here, and to do that we need your help! We have organised two workshops; one at Warriparinga (indoor session in Living Kaurna Cultural Centre) and another at Oaklands Wetlands (indoor session to be held at Marion Outdoor Pool). Please see below for more details:
