Welcome to September FoG News!

• Last month we did a significant planting in our Native Grass Compound.
• We have also been networking with other environmental groups in the south
• We have been helping the "Friends of O'Halloran Hill Conservation Park" plant trees and other plants.
• We have been helping the "Friends of the Marino Conservation Park" plant native grasses and acacias.
• We soon hope to finalise the "Vision Day" report. We will notify you when this becomes available, and we will put this on our website. We are excited about the future at Glenthorne, and will continue to strive to achieve the Goals and Aims proposed by the Vision Day.

Community Vision Day Report - Public Release

This is the announcement you have been waiting for!!!  We will be releasing our report of the Community Vision Day (that was held in May this year), and you are welcome to join us. This will be at the next Marion Council meeting.

Where: Marion Council Chambers, 245 Sturt Road, Sturt
When: Tuesday 8th September, 7pm

There will be plenty of parking around the back of the building, but enter at the front door on Sturt Road.

If you are unable to attend, but would like a copy of the report, please reply to this email providing your postal address.

September Enjoyment Day

Our next Enjoyment Day is Sunday, 20th September 2015 from 10.00am until 2.00pm, and all are welcome.

Perhaps you would like to join us for a walk along the creek line to check on past revegetation efforts and to also survey the bird life. Records of birds collected by the Friends over a number of years, currently number around 90 different species and numbers have been increasing in recent years

We usually have tea or coffee and a discussion of recent events from around 1.00 pm.

We will be on site from 10.00am to 2.00pm and if you arrive after 10.00am please call Alan on 0411595910 for entry instructions.

2016 Friends of Parks Forum

A group of folk from local "Friends of" groups are meeting about hosting the 2016 Friends of Parks forum next year.

The forum will be held over one weekend in the second half of next year, 2016.  About 200 people from all over the state attend this event.

If you would like to be involved, your help would be greatly appreciated. Please let us know.

 Friends of Glenthorne Membership Fee due

The Friends have many ongoing expenses which we can only cover through fees and donations, so we appreciate your support by renewing your membership, if you have not already done so.

There has been an increase this year to:

• $10.00 Individual membership
• $20.00 Family membership

We do offer institutional and corporate memberships and discounts for students and others under financial hardship.

A convenient way to do this is via e-Banking or deposits can be made into our ANZ account.
