October Enjoyment Day - Sunday (19th)

Meet at the Glenthorne Front Gate at 10am,  We are planning to do the following:

• It is now far too late to plant but we need to water the plants we planted last time.
• We will be doing a GPS location Weed Survey to advise the University of areas that contractors need to tackle.
• We hope to receive a load or two of mulch, which can be spread around plants that need moisture protection over the summer.
• Bird Survey, (Alan's regular activity, but he always enjoys company doing this, and you get a very good running commentary on "What Bird is That"!)

Annual General Meeting Outcomes

Our Annual General Meeting this year was a great night.

We inducted Dr. Pam Smith as our Patron, and had Mr. Bob Meyers (an authority on native grasses) give a very interesting presentation about his work in this area.

The elections went quickly.  Mr. Kris Hanna did not stand for re-election as chairman, (he is now Mayor Elect for the City of Marion)  The new positions are:

Chairman : Martin Schumacher

Vice-Chairman : Gary Goland

Secretary/Treasurer : Alan Burns

Extra Member : Mr. Stephen Brooke

Our Committee Meetings are normally held on the Tuesday before each Enjoyment Day

They are held at 7-9pm at the "Marion Club", sports centre lounge, (opposite the Marion Council Chambers on Oaklands Rd)

Christmas Event

Each year FoG recieve an invitation to join all the Volunteer Groups Christmas function, hosted by NRMB. The committee decided to join this event as our Christmas Function.  This will give us an excellent opportunity to meet Volunteers from other groups, compare notes with them, and have a great time.

Details for this event will be sent out later.

Marion Council Elections

Do you know who you will vote for?  Find out from the Candidates what their views are for Glenthorne.  The Council is a major stake-holder in the future of Glenthorne Farm.

Transport and Road Safety Forum invitation

We have been kindly inivted to promote a Transport and Road Safety forum where you can learn and have your views expresssed about any Transport or Road Safety issues or concerns you have.

This will be held at the Reynella Community Bowling Club, 1 Oval Road, Old Reynella, on Tuesday 28th October (Next Tuesday) from 6:30 - 7:45pm.
