Expressions of Interest for Glenthorne Farm Vision Day Working Group

 It is now over 18 months since the Glenthorne Community Forum was held at the Marion Sports Centre, and the next stage for the future of Glenthorne is due.

 The Friends of Glenthorne will be hosting a “Glenthorne Farm Vision Day” early in 2015.  This will be a public meeting, and take the form of workshops, to develop a long term Vision for the Glenthorne property.  Representatives from the University of Adelaide, the City of Marion, the Dept. of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI), local State Politicians, and other major stakeholders, will be invited too.

 A vision of Glenthorne Farm will incorporate a number of significant areas, such as Native Habitat, Heritage Preservation, Finance, Community Engagement, etc.  We envisage that on the Vision Day, workshops will be held for each of these areas. We will give participants the opportunity to be involved in workshops in the areas of their choice and interest, the outcomes of these workshops will become a road-map for the future plans and efforts at Glenthorne.

 For this Vision day to be a success, and to achieve a worthwhile outcome, on Tuesday 3^rd June, 2014, the Friends of Glenthorne executive committee decided to form a working group, to organise this “Glenthorne Farm Vision Day”.  We are inviting you to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to be a member of this working group.

The Working Group will meet at least once per month, until the Vision Day in early 2015, and hold its first meeting in August 2014.

 The Terms of Reference of this working group will be to fully plan and implement the Vision Day on behalf of the Friends of Glenthorne Committee. This may involve:

1.      Planning the focus and formats of each of the workshops,

2.      Recruit facilitators to run the workshops,

3.      Organising publicity for the event, and invitations,

4.      Managing the finances for the event,

5.      Organising a Venue and staffing for the day,

6.      Presenting the outcomes of the Vision Day to the FoG Committee

7.      Any other tasks deemed necessary for the successful running of this day.
