Barossa Group Request Your Help
to protect rural land within the Character Preservation District and the Significant Landscape Protection (SLP) overlay

Dear Friends of Glenthorne,

We have received an email from Gina McCulloch, the gist of that long email is below.

See the Change.org website for more information and to respond, as you see fit.

Regards,
Martin

I am seeking your support in objecting to a large-scale tourist accommodation project in southern Barossa, located on rural land within the Character Preservation District and the Significant Landscape Protection (SLP) overlay.

For more info on the SLP, see the document at: https://yoursay.barossa.sa.gov.au/85516/widgets/403726/documents/258016

The Property developer, Strategic Alliance and Commercial Pty Ltd, has proposed a development, referred to in the media as the InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa, on Lot 102 Hoffnungsthal Road, Lyndoch, situated in the foothills of the Barossa Range.

This development is massive, spanning 14,000 m², 20 metres in height, and 235 metres in length. It is of a scale fundamentally at variance with the relevant policies in the Planning & Design Code, as well as the area's natural features, including expansive rural views, the undeveloped backdrop of the Barossa Range and escarpment, remnant native vegetation, large River Red Gums, open space, rolling hills, and watercourses.

I’m seeking your support in opposing this proposal.

To learn more about this or to record your opposition to this proposal, please go to:  https://Change.org/PreserveAndProtectBarossa

Thank you for your time and your ongoing dedication to environmental preservation and protection.

Kind regards,
Gina McCulloch
