Glenthorne National Park BushCare

This Sunday, (3/3/2024) is the next Friends Bushcare Day.

We will meet at 10am at Carpark 1. To get there, follow the Park Road down from the Ranger’s Station to the T Junction then turn right into Carpark 1, which is behind the Shearing Shed and Main Shed.

Our Butterfly Project areas need a little attention, so we will work on the area just North of the Second Reveg area. This needs slashing, spraying and hand weeding. (Grid Ref: J:7)

Always be mindful of the forecast weather and our Hot Weather Policy.  If the forecasted temperature is 34 degrees or higher, the Bushcare Day is cancelled. If you are unwell, please do the right thing and stay at home.

If you need any help finding us, then please ring one of the following.

City of Marion Biodiversity Plan

The City of Marion is very excited to share with us their draft Biodiversity Plan 2024-2029.

As you will see, this new plan represents a significant increase in funding and scope from the 2018-2023 Remnant Native Vegetation Plan. This is due to many factors, but some of the most compelling are requests from Friends Groups and members of the public to enhance and protect our environment.

They would love for you to provide comment and give your feedback and/or support to the plan, which lays out the broad projects and associated funding for the next 5 years, however much of the detail will be up to us to create as we work with stakeholders and partners to deliver the plan.

The plan also features some beautiful photographs by volunteers, for which they are grateful.

To provide feedback, please visit this webpage and create a profile if you do not already have one: Sign in | Making Marion

From there you will be taken to the open engagements, and can select the Biodiversity Plan.
Please feel free to share with your networks, family and friends – anyone who lives in, works, or visits City of Marion has a stake in how our biodiversity is managed.
