Glenthorne National Park BushCare

Welcome to the New Year.

This Sunday, (21/1/2024) is the next Friends Bushcare Day.

Be mindful that the Major's Road bridge over the Expressway is closed, so the only way to Glenthorne is via the Main South Road/Majors Road intersection.

We will meet at 10am at Carpark 1. To get there, follow the Park Road down from the Ranger’s Station to the T Junction then turn right into Carpark 1, which is behind the Shearing Shed and Main Shed.

We will mow/slash and do some hand weeding in the Native Grass Compound. There are lots of Plantain to be dealt with. The Native Grass area is looking really good.

Be mindful of our Hot Weather Policy.  If the forecasted temperature is 34 degrees or higher, the Bushcare Day is cancelled.

If you are unwell, please do the right thing and stay at home.

If you need any help, then please ring one of the following.

Martin:  0403 804 306

Alan:     0411 595 910

Karen:   0479 048 394

Please remember that we hold Bushcare Days on the first and third Sundays, second Saturday of each month, and on each Wednesday morning. All are welcome.

January Bush Care Days are:

  • Each Wednesday at 9am
  • At Glenthorne NP-IY
    • 1st & 3rd Sunday, 7th & 21st January, 10-4pm
    • 2nd Saturday 13th January 10-4pm,
  • At RDA (Riding for Disabled) : Sat 27th January, 9-12pm.
