A date for the Bush Care Workshop has been set.
Saturday, 3rd December, 2022.
It will be run by Trees for Life for about 4 hours.
The time and place is still to be decided, but plan for a 9am start, and a place not far from Glenthorne National Park - Ityamaiitpinna Yarta.
The Workshop will cover the following:
· background to the biodiversity of SA
· bushcare strategies
· tools and techniques
· safe chemical handling
After the workshop, and for those interested, there will also be a field trip, to show some examples of Native Bushland that we would like to replicate at Glenthorne.
If you are interested to attend, (and have not already registered your interest) then please reply to this email before next Monday (14th Nov), and we can book you in. |

Updated Revegetation Management Plan |
| |
|
Revegetation Manager, Sam Chesson, has released an updated "Friends of Glenthorne Park - Ityamaiitpinna Yarta" Site Plan.
This is an exciting document, that identifies 12 areas within Glenthorne that the Friends can work on, and detailed with what is required in these areas.

Providing Habitat Structure |
| |
|
As the plantings at Glenthorne are maturing, it is good to be able to add "Habitat" structure in and amongst the plantings. This means adding logs and large rocks, to provide a refuge for fauna, such as reptiles and ground-nesting birds.
If you have, or know of, any logs, from felled trees, or large rocks, then let us know (by return email). If you cannot deliver to Glenthorne (by arrangement) then we can arrange a pickup. (Hopefully, you don't live too far away!) |

Riding for the Disabled Revegetation |
| |
|
The Friends of Glenthorne has started planting out a Garden at the Riding for Disabled site, on Majors Rd, opposite Glenthorne.
As you may know, the Riding for Disabled land is also National Park land, and is leased to them from the government.
The RDA site will also require lots of future work, so if you are interested in helping us there, and building a good relationship with RDA, then please reply to this email to let us know, and we can provide more details to you. |

Acknowledgement of Country |
| |
|
The Friends of Glenthorne acknowledge that Glenthorne National Park - Ityamaiitpinna Yarta is part of the traditional lands of the Kaurna people and respect their elders past, present and emerging.
We appreciate the Kaurna people's innate and deep spiritual connection with the land and waters of Glenthorne and aspire to work alongside them in taking care of this land and community. |
