This Sunday (21/08/2022) is another Friends Bushcare Day, and our Revegetation Manager Sam Chesson has plants to plant into the little dam closest to the Ranger's Station, on the left of WarHorse Drive.
This little dam is a new area for the Friends to work on, and has a great location, to become a beautiful "Entrance" vista to the park. If time permits, we will also continue our efforts in our other usual areas. Some work is also needed in the riparian (wet) zone between the Desal pipleline road and the southern end of the Billabong area, another area we have not focus on. We will continue to prepare this site for a special rest area with decorative seating.
Even if you only have a couple of hours, your help would be appreciated. Go to the Park Entry Gate, past the Rangers Station building and look for the hi-vis vests and please don’t forget to sign in.
The weather should be fairly good, but please be prepared for cool weather and muddy ground.
Please BYO lunch, drinking water, snacks etc. We are still operating under Covid conditions, so please exercise safe distancing. If you are unwell, please do the right thing and stay at home. We will meet in the Majors Road Ranger Station carpark from 9.45 am.
The suggested items to bring along/wear:
- long pants and sleeves,
- hat
- Warm jacket
- enclosed shoes or boots (or rubber boots even better)
- snacks / lunch
- drinking water
Please remember that we hold Bushcare Days on the first Sunday, second Saturday, and third Sunday of each month, along with each Wednesday morning. It is likely that we will be planting on these days for a few weeks yet. All are welcome. |
