Friends of Glenthorne
Glenthorne National Park Bush Care Day

Hi to all our Friends,

Due to construction works on Majors Road, this Saturday, the Friends of Glenthorne National Park Bushcare Day will be moved to the north-eastern corner of the property. We will park on Black Road, Flagstaff Hill and walk over Main South Road, via the lights, and access the planted trees and pods in that area.

This will not only keep us away from construction works, but it will give us a chance to examine the status of the plantings from last winter. It is likely that we will again be working on pod maintenance, mulching, and weeding. Some watering may occur, but it needs to be noted that all gear and water will have to be carried in.

We are not sure how long we will work, but the event is likely to be just a morning effort so volunteers can enjoy the long weekend. Please BYO snacks and drinks etc.

If you are free, please meet on Black Road from 9.45am so that the necessary signing in can take place and some brief safety instructions / induction can be given. Just look for the volunteers in hi-vis vests or call Alan on mob: 0411 595 910 if you are late.

The suggested items to bring along:

  • long pants and sleeves,
  • hat
  • sunscreen
  • enclosed shoes or boots
  • snacks
  • drinking water

We do hope you can join us.

We operate under Covid-19 restrictions, and we are very safety conscious, so please bear this in mind if you are coming along.

All the best and thanks to all our valued members and supporters.
