Ninna marni (hello, how are you?) Friends,
Dear Friends,
Apologies for the late notice, but it has taken time to organise and gain approval for this work event.
Tomorrow, Friday the 25th of February 2022, from 9.00am, we will be collecting some nursery equipment from the City of Marion depot on Marion Road.
The City of Marion has kindly donated some equipment from their now discontinued nursery for the Friends to relocate to the Riding for the Disabled SA site at O’Halloran Hill. This is a part of our plan to build our own native plant nursery on the RDA site and will save us a lot of money and recycle some still useful equipment.
We will be using personal trailers and a hired car trailer (if required on Saturday). It is likely that a contractor will be in attendance with a large truck but on Friday morning only.
If you are free, we could use your help. It will require some lifting and some physical work, so if you are fit and keen, we will meet at the City of Marion depot, northern entrance at 935 Marion Road, Mitchell Park. Safe Work Practices are to be followed.
Location: 935 Marion Road, Mitchell Park.
Date and time: Friday 25th Feb and Sat 26th Feb from 9.00am both days. We will likely work until the afternoon, so if you can make it, even after lunch it would be appreciated. If the gate is locked and no-one is around, we have probably left for the day.
What to bring:
A safety conscious attitude and awareness.
As much Personal Protection Equipment as you have – gloves, hat, long sleeved shirt and trousers, steel-capped work boots, eye protection. Some PPE will be provided. If you have a pruning saw, crowbar and other equipment it could be very useful. Most tools will be supplied.
BYO drinks, snacks, and lunch. We are Covid aware. Please be sun smart.
Call me on 0411595910 if you need direction and I will try to answer.
Kind regards,
Alan Burns
