Annual General Meeting,

9 Nov, 2020

A new date for our Covid-19 postponed 2020 AGM has been set.

The 2020 AGM is now to be held on Wed 9th Dec, still at 7pm, and still at the Lutheran Church, Hallett Cove.

Please put this in your diary now.

Due to current, and expected, Covid-19 restrictions for that day, you will still need to register to attend this event.

If you have NOT already registered, please go to our "2020 AGM" page to regsiter yourself and others attending with you.

As mentioned earlier, there will be the elections, and also some constitution changes, so please download the Agenda from our website  2020 AGM Agenda.

Working Bee

Sunday 19th December will be our last Working Bee Sunday for this year.. Please meet us at the Ranger's Station Carpark at 10 am.

See our Website HomePage for more information very relevant to attending our "Working Bees".

If you have attended one of our events, we would love to receive some feedback. Please let us know your thoughts by replying to this email. This will help us get better at doing those things we're not good at yet.

Of course, due to Covid-19, we will continue to practice safe-distancing, and if you are feeling un-well, please do not attend, (you probably won't feel like attending anyway).

Wagon Wheels - Do you have, or know someone who has, some old Pram or Golf Buggy type Wheels (9"-12" or 200mm - 300mm) or similar, that you could donate? The Friends of Glenthorne need to transport equipment from our cars/trailers to our work-sites, and we will make mini-waggons.  Large wheels are necessary for the rough terrain.

If you can help with this, then please reply to this email, and we can get in contact with you to collect.

Glenthorne History Book

Glenthorne, a Defining History & Indefinite Politics

Did you know that some very early buildings, in SA's history, exist at Glenthorne. There are plans afoot to have these buildings restored to their former glory (or humble use!) These plans are part of our vision for Glenthorne,

You can learn about the history of these buildings (and others that no longer exist) in our book, “Glenthorne, a Defining History & Indefinite Politics” written by Dr. Pam Smith, Dr. Keryn Walsh, and Mr. Alan Burns. More information on getting your own copy on the Friends of Glenthorne web site here. Or you may like to telephone Pam on 0428 315 266 on how to get one.

At just $20 (plus $10 postage and handling), it makes a great gift and is a great read. It is the most detailed written history of the Glenthorne property and we are very proud of it. If you come to our Enjoyment Day to pay for and pick up your copy, you can save the $10 postage.

Payment can be by way of cheque (posted in the mail) or electronic or cash deposit into the Friends bank account. Note that order forms must also be forwarded with payment to ensure your copy is accurately posted to you.

Ranger Spot

Our Glenthorne Rangers, Bec and Jae, occasionally have information that is interesting for us to know, so we will put it here.

They have been organising a Slashing Program at Glenthorne, see the Slashing Program PDF document on our website for more information.

Sedge Snippets
If you miss receiving the "Sedge Snippets" email, this is because DEW have changed from "Mount Lofty Management Board" to "LandScapes SA", and you will need to re-subscribe to recieve their news.  Visit there website here to subscribe.
