Due to the July Enjoyment day being postponed, on account of the amazing amount of rain we have been having, this day has been rescheduled for this Sunday 10th August.
And our normal Enjoyment day for August, 17th, will also go ahead.
Meet at the Glenthorne Front Gate at 10am, We are planning to do the following:
These amazing and very helpful folk will come to Glenthorne on Thursday, 14th August,
If you would like to join them, then please meet at Glenthorne at 9am, Thursday 14th August.
The Friends of Glenthonrne will be helping out at Handorf, at the home of Ms. Anni Luur-Fox, with her heritage listed cottage. Though not quite the same as the buildings at Glenthorne, this site is heritage listed. It is a stone cottage built by the random rubble' method on dirt, no foundation, obviously built by folk with not much money. The site was subject to a conservation study before any repairs were started. We will be helping the repairer Mr. Ian Thompson.
We will plan to depart at about 10am, to arrive in time for a morning coffee and early lunch at a local cafe, meet with Anni, and see how we can help and learn. We will plan to return home in the late afternoon.
We will also plan some follow-up visits, so if you can't make it on this date, then you may still get a chance to.
If you are interested, then please reply to this email. If you would like a lift, then please let us know.
Our next Committee Meeting is on Tuesday 19th August. If you have any issues or matters that you want discussed or brought to our attention, please let us know.
